Likes this wine:

Wednesday, October 27, 2021 - Deep red in colour, no nose, excellent dark fruit flavours, just a touch of a candy floss taste but that goes away as the bottle sits, tannins are evident on the back of the palate along with a satisfying sweetness from the fruit. This as most 2018,s from MSD I have tried is very approachable young and has the capability with age to impress. Will leave the rest of the case for a few years before opening another bottle.
The second day the tannins are dominant giving this wine sense of dryness and masking the fruit component. Will definitely need time!

My experience with the Pierre Amiot wine is they need time. With you big format bottles they will even age longer. I have found Amit's wines to take at least 8 to 10 years to balance out and let the fruit component shine. They need just need time. Those bottles will reward you time

10/28/2021 3:58:00 PM - I have had the same experience. A lot of people say 2018 is a vintage that will drink early, but I think they need time. I had a 2005 Amiot Millandes last year and it was delicious!

Yes I believe that if you let your wines age at least 8/10 yrs the wines will reward your patients .
I tend to open one of Amiot,s wines the first year then another in two more years and then gauge when to open the next. Your big bottle format doesn’t lend to opening your bottles early. Best to just read other peoples notes over the next few years and decide when you want to open the bigger bottles . The longer the better.
