Friday, March 17, 1989 - Happy St. Patrick's Day. Client Luncheon Tasting.
Full, dark red color, fruity, lush, needs time.
My #2 of 3.

3/17/2017 10:38:00 PM - I have posted 3 notes on this wine for 1989, 1990, and 1995 in case you are interested. To be fair, I always preferred the 1986 to the 1985. My 2 favorites are the 1968 and the 1973.

3/18/2017 10:17:00 PM - Always enjoyed this wine. I have a case of 1/2 bottles in perfect storage since release which I've neglected to access all these years. Intend to do so soon and hope that ship hasn't sailed.
Also three magnums of the 1984 purchased on auction about 8 or 10 years ago. My son's birth year, figured they'd be fun for a possible wedding or something. He's still single, gotta pick a different occasion I think!

3/19/2017 8:56:00 AM - Note BV has a library of older vintages, big bottles for sale, I once bought a magnum of 1973 there. 1984 and 1985 and 1986 were great Napa vintages for me to taste, buy, and enjoy. I would open a half bottle and enjoy your great decision to buy.
Ask your son and open a magnum to celebrate with his friends and your family-life is too short.
