Thursday, February 25, 2021 - Virtual tasting with proprietor Jim Bean. A darker character with bramble berry fruit complementing the red currant core. A bit of leather. Not as sweet as previous vintages, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but also less expressive. Couldn't really see the argument here for an „early drinking vintage“ as the palate did not come across well integrated with mouth-coating tannin and just not quite enough fruit for an exciting finish. The weakest in this 2014-2017 mini-vertical.
