Saturday, February 5, 2022 - Medium straw to yellow jasmine.
Ripe, intense aromas of peach blossom, spiced pear, greengage, top red apple, and white pepper. Quite a bright focussed note, there are subtle elements of clementine, chamomile tea and some mineral/wet river stones.
A soft, supple entry, the wine is broad with a rich, oily texture balanced with minerals. Flavours include moth balls at first and then candied fruits, like cherry heart sweets, violet and plenty of ripe red apples with a touch of clarified butter and Williams pear. Threading through is a lively acidity and a soapy element, along with old ladies' perfume or musk sweets. There is generous alcohol suggesting a warmer year, along with a hot cayenne pepper note. This wine has a youthful edge that is medium in length and finishes with some mineral and Asian pear. No fat on it.
