Tasting Notes: Very Dark, purple-red to rim. Clear to slight haze. Youthful, aromatic nose of cherries, floral notes, spice and leather, also a very slight vegetal aroma underneath the others. On the palate, it is dry, medium bodied (I thought it would be heavier than it was), with *tart* acidity and medium astringent tannins. Flavors of cherry liqueur, spice and tobacco. Secondary flavors push the syrah and zin components to the foreground with a 10 second dry spicy finish with undertones of licorice. This wine presents some heat with 14.5% alcohol, but the heat mellows 30 minutes after opening. Have a half-bottle standing by for the second night. Will update here if necessary.
Composition: 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Zinfandel, 18% Syrah, 13% Petite Sirah
