2017 Stags' Leap Winery Petite Sirah

90 Points

Tuesday, June 29, 2021 - Garnet color. Dark fruit up front, plum, black cherry. Minerality, tobacco, earth giving way to nice herbal notes, thyme, lavender, black licorice. Medium tannins, nice body and structure for being consumed young.

Drank well with steak au poivre.

Decanted for 90 minutes and still improved during dinner, next time will decant for 2+ hours.

At $35 will buy the 2017 again to consume after 2025 when it's starting to show off.
