Wednesday, October 28, 2015 - Wow, has this every pulled together since I last tasted it! A dark ruby in the glass with a clearing meniscus, the nose features dark cherry/raspberry compote and chocolate-covered cherries. On the palate, a rich, though not cloying, dark cherry and plum flavors, with sweet tannins, spice and a hint of vanilla. No overpowering alcohol as when this was younger, I was amazed to see on the label that this is 15.5% ABV. This was a perfect foil for spicy buffalo chili while watching game 2 of the World Series. Great pitching, Johnny Cueto!
