Saturday, October 7, 2023 - Was given as a gift. Strong cardboard/barnyard and alcohol up front. May have some TCA. I get a little camphor/mint as well. Dark fruit, blueberry, pencil/graphite, and cedar breaking through. Beautiful color, almost opaque to the rim.
Disjointed at first, almost off putting, but coming together after 1h.
Very balanced and surprisingly pleasing in the mouth. Alcohol is still present, but don’t get the TCA note on the palate or nose after 2h. Very dense with a big backbone.
Needs lots of time. I wouldn’t open this for another 3-5y. Just not a wow bottle in my mind, but lots of other CdR to choose from at this price point.
