Monday, January 28, 2019 - First sip after popping the cork was a little tannic but revealed notes of brooding fruit and hints of secrets yet to be revealed.

After a restless wait of about an hour or so, we approached this liquid with hesitant anticipation, as our last encounter about 5 years earlier was not rewarding. (See previous tasting note.)

The nose was not very intense, but revealed ripe fruit, Coca Cola, and vanilla. In the mouth, super silky tannins, incredible balance, blueberry pie, and a symphony of expression with a little white pepper at the end.

Eleven years of cellaring this bottle was well worth the journey.
