Sunday, May 19, 2019 - Cork was in perfect condition, slight bricking on the edge when poured; bottle not decanted.
Bit of black cherry on an otherwise non-descript nose. Very well balanced wine on the palate, and having a tough time discerning any particular flavors as well.
Originally sampled this out of regular Syrah stems and wasn’t quite sure if the wine was past its peak. Re-tried in sommelier Syrah glasses and concentration and structure both improved markedly; might be one of the most dramatic improvements I’ve had and side-by-side testing from regular and somm stems of the same varietal.
I’ve got two more bottles of this which I’ll drink over the next 6 to 12 months. Very impressive expression Sorock, whether new or old world.
