Thursday, May 18, 2023 - All about oak here w this monopole Cru f Domaine Faiveley - it is fairish plus though not particularly engaging, nor memorable, to be frank an uneventful drinking experience. Straw-golden, green reflections in the glass. Nose - as said - is utterly driven by new oak w vanilla, butter & nuttiness emerging throughout bottle, hints of barrel spice, honey & grape. Palate is equally aggressive on the oak side, acceptable acidity, roundness & w ample minerality, rancid buttery mouthfeel, finishing slightly lemon-bitter.
