93 Points

Wednesday, October 19, 2022 - Licorice, plums, black currants on the nose. Fresh and round, good balance, a touch of alcohol, black fruits, medium tannins, medium ending with vegetable notes. Young, but already very drinkable. These are impressions from day 1 - will see if it improves on day 2.

Day 2 - Much better. More open with a nose of licorice, black currants, blackberries. A hint of alcohol. Still fresh on the palate but more complex, nice acidity and grainy tannins, very nice black fruits (blackberries and dark cherries), cocoa, a hint of led, underbrush, then a long, warm finish with some oak aromas to balance the rest. 93 on day 2.

10/20/2022 4:52:00 AM - At $175/bottle on wine-searcher (or even the $110 flash-sale pricing earlier this year), might it be a stretch to call this a good, everyday value based on your impression of it’s quality? QPR seems a bit lackluster? Not meaning to be picky - just trying to see if you felt like it was as you’d expect for a $100-$200 bottle of wine.

10/20/2022 5:12:00 AM - BadOyster - you might be right - I thought I paid $29 for this but upon checking I actually paid $65 from a bin sale. So yes, QPR is not there - I will amend.
