Bright garnet/purple color. Ripe and fresh nose of red and black fruits, tobacco, baked cherry. Nose continued to volve over an hour of drinking...Palate was "ripe" red fruits, black cherry, rhubarb, pipe tobacco, spices. Rich mouthfeel and long finish.

Interesting earthy and expressive wine, not what I was expecting but quite good. Tannins still firm, suggesting a long drinking arc ahead. Good upside with this wine, score goes higher in time... 93+
