Saturday, February 24, 2024 - Was rated highly (95) in a 1982 Decanter retrospective tasting of 1982 Bordeaux’s. Did not decant. It actually opened up more in the glass and did not fade. Aromatics were Red Pepper (Calabrian Chili’s) Cabernet Spice, Rusty Pipe Pauillac earthiness. Oak is way in the background. A very elegant, light on its feet Bordeaux. Only 12% alcohol. Fruit (raspberry, bing cherry) very much alive. This wine is not showing decline. For claret lovers from yesteryear. Soft tannins. Not a style for those accustomed to more Modern Day Bordeaux’s. For Pinot lovers who could be charmed
