Friday, February 26, 2021 - Continuing to taste through the 2019 range, and this is rather tighter in expression than the Himmelreich Kabinett I had earlier in the week. It’s very light in color, barely registering as yellow at all. The nose is all crisp peach and lemon zest, with a bit of flinty mineral accent. On the palate it’s a bit wan, feeling like it’s either would up completely tight, or maybe just lacking a bit of fruit density. The purity is certainly there. I left 1/2 to check on over the next few nights. We’ll see if it picks up some additional palate depth.
