I’ve always thought of this wine as being perfumed, high toned and weightless. Earlier tastings of this were quizzical and somewhat clumsy. I persevered since this has always been a favorite. Finally this week this vintage revealed itself. This wine could be mistaken as a cultish, natural, low intervention Cabernet. It is deeply earthly but skips along the fault line body wise. Instead of the violets it brings a darker, black cherry nuance that is so out of the ordinary for this wine. Altogether, it is both unexpected and stunning.
