Monday, June 7, 2021 - (Domaine Alexis Lichine & Robert Newman) a brown almost tawny color out of the bottle; a very smoke/peaty nose of fine leather, antique wood, fernet branca-type minty herbal spice complexity with brown sugar dustings and dark chocolate. An orange top note begins to take centerstage, with hickory smoke, bacon/cured meats and a whiff of onion jam, all of which are whispy and properly integrated.as the wine sits in the glass and, in fact, the wine itself shows some oxidation immediately out of the bottle and then comes into focus with air time, even on DAY 2!!! Incredible stuff. Lots of style
