Saturday, October 17, 2015 - Deeper gold color; yes, I love the producer but this wine seemed to be in a phase before the winemaker adjusted his style for the better, tons of butterscotch, rich, heavy, sweet vanilla, hazelnut, loads of buttered movie popcorn; palate is super rich and though there is some acid it is not enough for the richness of the wine, a bit cloying affecting drinkability, hard to finish a half glass let alone a bottle; a shame since I love the producer and especially this bottling ('07 onward).
