Tuesday, January 23, 2024 - Many a Riesling producer in the Nahe can make good wines. Think Bicking, Hermannsberg, Korrell, Hees, In den Zehn Morgen und many others. But only the top-3 - Emrich-Schönleber, Schafer-Frohlich und Dönnhoff make exceptional wines on every level.
This 2019 GG is certainly a nice wine, but cannot compete with the first class players. It is **** versus *****, as Eichelmann rightly comments. It just misses some tension, minerality, etc. Not much, a bit. Happy to drink it, but not a great achievement,
