Friday, May 21, 2021 - Herbs, glossy berry fruit, preserves, earth, flint — it's not super aromatic and it doesn’t feel open and giving, instead it’s sort of closed and dense. The palate has a little more pepper and some slick piercing berry fruit that hits in the mid palate. There’s medium acid and tannins that are probably higher than perceived due to the ripe palate. Structurally it just doesn’t feel there to me, I feel like the structure struggles to contain the ripeness and fullness of this wine — as if it’s just coloring outside the lines and spilling over the edges.

It’s hard to tell whether I’m drinking this too young or not. While it feels like it needs to develop and even out, but that said it doesn’t feel like it has the structure that would indicate there’s a ton of structural development to come.
