Thursday, March 23, 2023 - Practice Blind Papers with MW Students - Paper 1: (Tasted Blind) Light yellow with aromas of ripe golden apple, clementine, smoke and light toast. Fairly intense, the wine has an almost sweet nose. The entry is fabulously soft and juicy (at first, it all felt more Cote d’Or than chablis) but quickly is framed by a bracing, clean acid and notes of mineral, sea salt and oyster shell. Focussed wine, linear in shape, is tightly wound with good concentration morphing to a classic Chablis style. Very smart example with just a hint of creamy lees to keep it interesting.
