Saturday, November 5, 2022 - A bit of a surprise in this wine as it is not made in the traditional Northern Rhône style. This is a light-bodied, drinkable, contemporary style more in the vein of many New World Syrahs from the Southern Hemisphere. For me, not a huge fan, especially from a rather poor QPR. On to the wine:
Color: More brick or true red than I would expect from a Syrah. Not terribly purple. Lighter color and not terribly viscous.
Nose: Light, a bit of fruit but also some turpentine and candy.
Taste: Not quite but nearly cloying fruit when first open. Barely discernible tannins and missing some balancing spices. When open for a while the sweet fruit mellowed and this just became a simple drinking wine.
