Wednesday, May 5, 2021 - Dark garnet, nearly opaque, nose of dark crushed berry compote, with some lovely floral spice notes; rich and intense dark blackberry fruit, deeply flavored, with wonderful complex streaks of fall spices, white pepper, dried herbs, a touch of anise. Amazing flavor complexity from a wine with destemmed fruit and no new oak, really a distillation of syrah to its core. For me, this is year in and year out an archetypal California Syrah.
