Thursday, April 15, 2021 - Caymus was trying too hard on this wine as I find it overly processed and extracted. While there was plenty of fruit on the palate, it tasted artificial followed by biting tannins which led to its short finish. It possessed some of the characteristics we know in Petite Sirah namely the jammy fruit, pepper and pronounced tannins but it is over the top without the nuances one would expect. This comes across like a wine made by a very large commercial enterprise. This was a disappointment.
