Saturday, September 23, 2023 - Medium golden color. Explosive, ripe, but with that signature Jura mineral-coolness. Notes of citrus, yellow fruit, some matchstick too, there is plenty of wet stone and chalk minerality, also some sweet spices, honey and the oak is a touch recognizable at this very early stage, also some white flowers and cammomile. Medium-full bodied, deep and powerful, with a medium-high acidity cutting through the richness. There is also some tannin adding structure and grip. Long finish with plenty of complexity. A superb Jura Chardonnay from this great producer, a little riper than the 2016 I recently had, but nevertheless very beautiful. (93+)
I might have been a little stingy on my rating, but the 2016 set the bar really high. On day 2 this is showing even better.
