Friday, November 26, 2021 - My Grade: EX. An outstanding value, even it it is a bit too young right now. The Saint Cosme estate has been in the same family since 1490! Opened and the tasted 2 days later (vacuvin). Deep Scarlet color, expressive nose of ripe plums, black cherries, licorice, cassis, eucalyptus, black pepper. On the palate: lush, fruit-forward, mouth filling black plums, black cherries, licorice, black pepper, great mouth-feel, firm tannins, good structure and complexity, delicious, a touch of residual sugar, fresh acidity, with a dry, medium length finish of sour berries and black pepper. Give it 3-4 years to reach peak.
