Saturday, November 5, 2022 - Double-blinded by my brother on this at a family gathering (5 blind tasters).
This immediately followed a 2019 Belle Glos Clark & Telephone vineyard that everyone (but me) guessed as California Cabernet (I guessed Zinfandel). With this A to Z, everyone very quickly guessed Pinot Noir from various cool-climate California regions. I guessed 2019 Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley and it was pretty obvious to me. There's something to be said for the authenticity of bottle that is immediately recognizable by many people as the correct variety, blind. To me, that's a sign of good quality and honest wine making. I know A to Z is a larger producer, but kudos to them for making a high-production wine with this quality.
Nobody got smoke or overt oak with this bottle, as is mentioned in some previous notes. All enjoyed this and thought it to be high-quality.
