Friday, February 4, 2022 - 1978 Piedmont Horizontal:

All bottles opened 12 hours in advance for bottle breath.

Leather, dried date and tar. Tertiary and complex. Hits the palate with waves of dried red fruit, expressive and enveloping. Hint of bitterness on the finish but does not impact the harmonious balance of this wine. Medium+ finish that continues to gain volume with air.
