90 Points

Saturday, August 4, 2007 - A bit worried on opening as the cork was extremely dry and crumbling, but this did not seem to be oxidised in any way. Notes are immediately after decanting. Really deep colour still a dark opaque black plum with only a slight lightening to garnet at the rim. Nose is not giving up much, some herbal notes, maybe a little wood. Palate is initially and unexpectedly rich and sweet but turns pretty dry on the finish with a bite of acidity. Tannins have completely mellowed. This is definitely ready to drink or maybe a little late. With some air it definitely gets richer and sweeter would upgrade to 90.
