Monday, October 10, 2005 - Consumed over two nights. On the first night this was a bit odd, very medicinal smelling with 'vitamin pill' smells, a little vegetal, not very forgiving, very slow and reticent to open. After a couple of hours of playing with 1/3 of the bottle, I corked it up to sit overnight in the fridge.
DAY 2: Ahhh, here we go. From the moment I pulled the cork on the second night, this was screaming with raspberry, a hint of char and some cedar. The palate is full, round and silky with a bright profile, nice acidity, lusciously silky tannins, a great mouthful of Washington Cabernet. Cranberry and red currant interplay with graphite and mineral elements, very Bordeaux-like, more than I am used to for this wine.
