Wednesday, April 10, 2024 - Didn’t have time to decant this one, so enjoyed on pop and poor. As before, there is a voluminous and engaging bouquet to this wine. The palate is rich, round, and packed to the hilt with velvety dark fruit. Intermingled are clear notes of vanilla and oak, as well as some slightly course tannins lurking around the back end. It’s coming across rather boisterous tonight and could use a nice piece of grilled meat or, better yet, another two years in the cellar to evolve a bit and find its balance.
