Sunday, March 31, 2024 - Dark, earthy, and rather full-bodied, this seems to be in a good place right now. Rather brooding in style, but that's what I usually expect and get in NSG, especially from Chevillon. We had this with rare-seared duck breast with a morel and blackberry sauce and it was a fine match. The rustic profile was well-suited to the morel's intensity. A little high-toned in the nose, but it has shed most of its acid and I'd suspect it could still go a few more years before decline. Not a lot of finesse, to be sure, but quite flavory and one of the better wines from Chevillon that I've had recently.
