Wednesday, April 26, 2023 - I can’t be the only one who gets a massive amount of smoke taint on this? Which is really a shame as the underlying parts here are really good. But the scotch peaty flavor is… a lot. That said, the smoke is integrated to the point that it’s almost mezcal like. Maybe I’ll have a bit of citrus and salt with the next one.

    6/7/2023 8:53:00 AM - It’s an odd thing— my wife drinks this wine almost once a week and I have been tracking it. Sometimes I get the smoke, sometimes not at all. To the point that I am thinking it’s bottle variation, but that can’t be, and now I think more about how our palates are different (my wife not being sensitive to the phenols at all) and how my palate shifts depending on food, time of day, mood? who knows?
