Monday, January 8, 2018 - color dark purple with bricking around the rim, Port-like. The nose is reticent upon opening, will evaluate over the next several hours, but a little raisiny and pruny, as expected. Very smooth with almost no noticeable tannins now, yet it still has structure, probably hoisted by the 15.5% alcohol. Yet the alcohol is not obtrusive and there is no noticeable heat. Acids are low but present and fruit is profound, again very pruny and plummy. Pleasant but not profound, maybe right at its peak but it certainly will not improve.
