Thursday, November 10, 2011 - SQN vs Rhone Dinner (BLT Steak, DC): Wowzers. The nose is slightly reductive, in a very inviting way. Smoked meats shine through, and some floral hints (maybe co-fermented with some viognier?). Upon my first sip I remember tasting blueberry pie, both in the fruit profile, but also in the flaky crust. There is some chalky notes that balance out the massive pure fruit. The finish lingers leaving you with powdered cocoa. Impressive.
