Monday, August 12, 2013 - Decanted for two hours before imbibing. The wine is opaque purple with an exceedingly complex nose of black currants, bacon and caramel. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated with blueberry, blackberry, espresso and chocolate and more subtle, notes of oak and pepper. It has a memorable, lengthy finish with silky tannins. Because it is perfectly integrated, I would drink it now and not wait for it to improve with time in the cellar. Close to perfection.
