95 Points

Friday, January 1, 2016 - Decanted and served.
The nose is singing for the pop of the cork, light spice, violets, dark fruits. The wine felt well aged, had a beautiful depth and persist and elf flavour and nice core of acidity. Big but well balanced and once again we find that amplified balance that SQNs have, classy and with finesse. For sure it has quite a few summers in it. A good 95

I am not sure I fully understand your dilemma "did we underrate because it's an SQN and did we rate higher because it's an SQN?", yet somehow I do agree... I had the Atlantis in a casual environment and while it was delicious it was also fitting to the environment and so easy to like that I gave it also a good 95 (..only)! Might deserve even higher...
