Friday, May 8, 2015 - The last of six bottles we have been tasting over time, perhaps the best. I have always thought it a good, straightforward Washington Cabernet, but I have always wished for the oak notes (which were never terribly prominent, but which I dislike) to recede completely. They now have done so, and the fruit is still remarkably fresh for a new world Cabernet approaching its 10th birthday. Paired with grilled ribeyes from Kansas City and grilled asparagus, this wine was absolutely delightful, and warranted the aging. I have a few from the 2008 vintage in the cellar, and I'm looking forward to exploring them now.
