Community Tasting Note

Saturday, October 3, 2009 - Decanted for two hours. Dark majestic purple. The nose is almost herculean, with rich dark chocolate, blueberry, vanilla, and a touch of warm leather. What a nose! I can't take my nose away from the Reidel, this has so much going on. I almost get some Christmas pudding and oak as well. The palate is well intergated and coating. The finish will carry on for a year; this is a serious wine. This is one of the best wines that I have ever tasted from Australia, much less Barossa. The Ares is in the same league as Grange '90 and '98. I have three more bottles and it is difficult not to give in and consume. I am almost speechless. A truly deft hand in wine making. Drink now - 2025.

The finish is still going......
