Thursday, July 30, 2020 - Showing so much better than one I opened with friends five years ago. If a wine can be viscous, yet fresh, this is it. Super unctuous and sweet, with apricot and orange marmalade, quince paste and spiced baked apple flavors and aromas, the acid levels keep everything in check. In fact, there's really good focus here due to the fact that there were more passerillage grapes that vintage, in comparison to the more botrytis dominated '95 and '97 vintage. A gorgeous showing with plenty of life left and leads me to believe my last bottle suffered from cork failure. Solid A
