93 Points

Monday, August 3, 2020 - Pours quite light in the glass, totally transparent, medium garnet. Bricking is medium. The nose is massively expressive and fantastically complex. Detractors might note a touch of Brett, but it's easily within acceptable limits for most tasters. The nose shows worn leather, tobacco leaf, red cherry, red currant, toasted nuts, bay leaf, and touches of beef broth and sweet cedar. The palate has nearly zero remaining tannin, but the acid is bright and freshly red fruited (medium plus). The finish is long replaying much of the nose. A wonderful wine that I wish I had a cellar full of. An absolute steal at 16 euros. Somewhat reminiscent of an 80's Bordeaux from a cooler year with a certain Iberian twist. Nearly 94 Points.
