Barely darker than a Rosé, aromatically effusive, yet fleeting, and nearly weightless on the palate, I was not sure if I was drinking wine, or imagining it. Everything that should be there is there. It’s just a ghostly presence. I suspect this will age on its balance (that said, acid-phobics beware), but I have no idea what it will become.

9/20/2022 5:20:00 PM - Great note. Super structured wine. I'm an acid-phobe, but I think one simply needs to wait a decade before trying one. Lewman was more 'showy' in 2019, and even that needs a lot of time.

9/20/2022 5:53:00 PM - I am actually concerned about it’s lack of structure. Goodfellow wines tend to have a notable tannic spine, and this showed none. It’s all acid, which is a fickle dance partner for aging.

9/20/2022 7:20:00 PM - It would surprise me for WR to not have tannins, but I trust your read here having just tasted it. When I was referring to structure, I was including the acid structure., but it did have shape. It wasn't a shapeless acid bomb when I tasted it at the winery last year. It was very lean. Perhaps Marcus will chime in here.

9/20/2022 8:24:00 PM - We opened a bottle three nights ago, after I saw David’s note. That wine is hiding a lot but has darkened two shades since bottling, and on day 2 hit a beautiful aromatic point. The palate is in need of time, but we saw some very fine tannins behind the acidity. The Heritage 15 is from three fermenters, two of which were 100% whole cluster with the third 44%, so I suspect the tannins will show up at some point. But it wasn’t a heavily tannic wine(we opened the 17 and 18 Pumphouse bottlings, and both were definitely a jump up in structure and weight. But the aromatics on the Heritage No 15 made it my favorite of the group.

And now I know who getfuzzy is. ;)
