Saturday, April 27, 2024 - 18 hour slow ox, then 4+ hours in the decanter. Still very apprehensive but some time in the glass and awesome wood fired pizza nudged this beauty along (shout out to Picciotto - Douglaston, NY the best!)

Once this splendid specimen started going it was like flying down the biggest hill in the neighborhood, on your homemade sled, after a snowstorm. Thrills and thrills.... Weeeee!!!

This is similar to Asili with its red and black bold juicy fruit. But it's a somewhat dialed back version of the brute that is the Asili with its powder keg like packed fruit.

The Rabaja possess big but lean muscles. Impressive drive, intensity, and persistence. With time this will display more elegance. That's when it will all come together and really wow.

This wine is locked and loaded. A ballistic missile waiting to be fired. Gun to my head, if I could only buy one of the 9 PdB Riserva Crus, this would be it. I found the Paje and Montestefano on the sleek & elegant side and the Asili a bold, brawny powerhouse. This falls somewhere in between. Similar to the Montefico.

This needs years and years for primetime. Maybe 5+ more from here. 2029+
