Not powerful or "big" but a real presence. Cherry ( ubiquitous) and quite fresh red fruit are the most obvious traits, but it does mellow into really deep Chianti-like flavours. I was wrong in my assessment about my first encounter , because this is pretty and refined and delicate. These are three words I would not have used first time around. Was I wrong ? Probably. This wine is much better than I first thought.
