Does not like this wine:

86 Points

Saturday, January 29, 2022 - Opened in the glass for 2 hours.

The color is deep red/ruby but it's more transparent than I expected. Nose is pretty faint, but I would say dark red berries and cherries, maybe some oak support but nothing distinctly identifiable. Palate is medium full body, same dark red fruits, little bit of acid, no tannin to speak of. Finish is pretty lackluster but mimics the palate. Tails off quickly with dark red fruit and maybe a little bit of crushed rock over time.

Are you guys sure we're drinking the same wine? This isn't very good. Doesn't hold a candle to the other WineAccess NDAs like Yesterday 18, Concept Album 16, Radio Silence 17/18, Editorial 18, or even Phoenix 17. Reminds me a lot of the disastrous Ringer 19 but without as much residual sugar. Maybe I had an off bottle but I haven't had much bottle variation with the WA NDAs.

Drink now, I have no reason to believe there is cellaring potential here.

1/29/2022 9:23:00 PM - Must be variation here based on the dispersion notes developing. I agree that variation like this is not something I have experienced before in the WA NDA range.

I also thought that 2019 Ringer is a residual sugar mess, but Big Ticket was a success for me. Not as good as 18 Yesterday Oakville, but not a JLohr shelf wine by any means.

Curious data point. May have to open another soon.

2/18/2022 2:44:00 PM - Based on your review I decided to open a bottle. I completely agree with your TN. Wine is much lighter in opacity that I was expecting. I don’t know if I’d peg this as Cabernet if tasted blind. Nose almost has a sense of manipulation, like oak chips or something. There’s also a burn on the finish from the alcohol. I’ve had many of WA’s recent NDA wines and the Yesterday wines blow this out of the water. I’m not going to give this bottle a score and wait until I have a second bottle. No tannins at all. Drink now. Heck, even WA says drink now.

2/22/2022 5:38:00 AM - I agree. This is a waste of money (and it is relatively inexpensive). As I wrote in my description, blueberry flavored maple syrup. WA should be ashamed of their right up for this garbage.
