Tuesday, January 23, 2024 - This is really, really good - and, as Peay says, unlike most Viognier you may have had (or at least that I have had). Medium gold but highly translucent in the glass. Aromas of peach, pear, lemongrass, a hint of tropical fruits, some crushed gravel and bread / yeast. On the palate, the first thing you notice is the very crisp acidity, which nevertheless does not unbalance the wine. Lighter-bodied, with oak providing not so much noticeable flavor as just some structure and complexity. A really enjoyable, mid-length finish to boot. Just really enjoyable - unless you’re looking for either a typical California or Australia sun-baked tropical fruit bomb, or the heavy oaking and richness of a Condrieu, neither of which you will find with this bottle.

Not a tremendous pair with a miso-glazed seared salmon, but that was my own faulty pairing work.
