Thursday, September 22, 2022 - Delicious, but young. Purchased at their office in Calce, consumed over 2 days on the terazza in Tossa de Mar with Manchego and and Iberico ham. Carignan 35%, Syrah 30%, Grenache 25%, Mourvèdre 10%. The Syrah vines are by far the youngest at 20 years while the Carignan vines are 125 years old. Aged 24 months in barriques and Demi-muid, my recollection is that most, if not all wood is used. Certainly any oak here is subtle. Like all their wines, all native yeasts, unfiltered and unfined. We got lucky here in that were tasting through the 2020 vintage, which they tell us was tough for the winemakers, but the fruit was fantastic. Typical Roussillon red notes of cherries, blackberries, leather, spices and marked notes of garrigue (thyme, rosemary).
