Saturday, June 10, 2023 - Virginia Governor's Cup Winners: Pale lemon color with fine bubbles. The aromas show crushed sweet tarts and chalk dust, with sweet raspberries, red apple, dried roses and sugar cane. The palate has a medium-bodied, zesty acidity vibe with sugar cane and crushed sweet tarts. The flavors of red apple peel, sweet raspberries, and spiced tea add some fun qualities. Pretty straightforward stuff, but it’s still nice. Maybe I’m missing something here, but this was the outlier in the bunch. 100% Pinot Noir aged four years on the lees.
