Tuesday, April 24, 2012 - I made a big mistake on this one. Needed some white wine in the early stages of preparing an asparagus risotto and took this out of the rack not knowing what it was nor who had gifted it to me. In the urgency of the moment, a third of the bottle went in before I tasted it (I know, that's embarassing in itself. Very bad practice to not taste before adding to a dish...). When my wife and I finally filled a glass, we discovered a really good wine. Intriguing nose of oranges and something good we could not name. My wife is not a white wine aficionada, perhaps because of the acidity and "tightness" of our local Swiss whites. This one charmed her immediately. Without being in any way sweet, it is rich and round, and draws you in. Even the casual drinker will stop a moment in pleasant surprise to try to figure out just what this is... I will definitiely try to buy more.
