Sunday, September 10, 2023 - Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Walla Walla Valley, Washington, 14.4% ABV, not mevushal. Appearance was deep dark and very opaque royal, with moderate to heavy viscosity. Nose was of high intensity and really nice, tight yet incredibly floral upon opening, eventually opening up and giving way to dark fruit and spices. Blackberry, black raspberry, cherry, and strawberry jam, floral notes of roses, violets and potpourri, sweet anise, graphite, mint, oregano, fresh cream, leather, cedar, baking spices and vanilla. Palate was incredibly polished and sophisticated, quite effeminate for a cabernet yet still racy. Juicy yet balanced fruit with understated firm tannins and moderate acidity, all coming together harmoniously. Juicy black currants, black cherry, black plum, a hint of juicy red strawberries, blackberry bramble, loamy dirt, white pepper, toffee, umami, tobacco leaf and cocoa. Finish is long and layered and silky smooth, blackberries and dusty cocoa. Drinking beautifully now, with time to breathe, but should age gracefully for years to come. On par quality-wise (albeit different in style) with some of the top kosher Bordeaux and the Gen9. 94-95.
